Reportedly, the upgraded casting machine of Taiwan's Feng Hsin Iron & Steel has been successfully put into operation for its plant in Taichung City. The machine enables Feng Hsin to produce the first 150 mm square heat produced section. In addtion, the new Level 1 and Level 2 automation package supplied by SMS Concast helps improve both Feng Hsin's production processes and output. SMS Concast also provided Feng Hsin with a new 5th casting strand, an air-mist cooling system of the Z3 type, a hydraulic oscillation unit, a withdrawal straightening unit and stopper boxes. It is know that Feng Hsin has successfully completed the first cast through all five strands.
